Freedom from Torture is a charity dedicated to healing and protecting survivors of torture. Torture is used to intimidate, silence and oppress. It is a devastating experience that leaves behind long-lasting trauma. To escape it, survivors must flee to foreign countries, often arriving with nothing but the clothes on their back and leaving behind their friends, family, jobs and communities.

Across our five centres in the UK, we provide specialist psychological therapy, counselling and creative groups to help survivors to recover from their trauma and rebuild their lives. We stand with survivors and fight for change together.
